No. budZy is explicitly platonic. Romance is not allowed on the platform — it's in our community guidelines and we enforce it. We're building a space for the small social moments that used to happen organically, not a dating product.
Every buddy passes mandatory ID verification before they can meet anyone. All meets happen in public places only — cafés, libraries, parks. A live check-in happens during every meet, and both sides review each other after. Even small reports of bad behavior remove someone from the platform.
Anyone over 18 who passes verification, records an intro video, and agrees to our community guidelines. We review every application. The bar is real — most applications won't make it through, and that's the point.
Beans are budZy's in-app credits. You buy them in small bundles via UPI. A coffee chat (about an hour) costs around 80 Beans. Buddies earn Beans for their time and convert them back to INR. We take a small commission on the conversion. Joining the waitlist gets you 200 Free Beans on launch.
We're aiming for an early access pilot in Bangalore first, followed by Mumbai and Delhi. Joining the waitlist is the only way to get notified when your city opens — we're keeping launch small on purpose, to make sure the experience is right.
